CourseĀ Objectives
1. 1: reviews, demonstrates or attempts the following skills:
underhand serve, overhand serve, forearm pass ,overhead pass
Attack skills: hit, tip, roll, block
1:2: demonstrates transition from defense to offense.
1:3: demonstrates movement patterns in low, mid and high zones
2.1: self-evaluates the following skills using a checklist:
forearm pass, overhead pass, serve, attack skills.
4.1: participates in drills and modified games that require speed,
power, rapid response time and agility.
4.2: participates in drills and modified games that require aerobic
fitness.
5.1: exhibits exemplary social behavior during drills and games by
making honor calls.
5.2: self-officiates 3 on 3 games.
6.2: offers encouragement and positive feedback to teammates and
opponents in game play and drills
Performance Indicators
The student will:
o Demonstrate proficiency in the forearm pass, the overhead pass and the serve.
o Demonstrate the step hop, approach jump, and block jump.
o Demonstrate an understanding of basic offensive and defensive strategy.
o Apply the basic rules of volleyball in modified and regulation games.
o Serve as a coach for classmates during games.
