The SKHS Science Curriculum

Studentsare required to take the core science courses of Earth and SpaceSystems, Biology, and Chemistry to meet the requirements of the NECAPstate science assessment.  Once the 9th grade year iscompleted there are many different sequence options available tostudents.  Students are not stuck in a track once they take a course. This means that a student can move between Honors and Non-Honors basedon performance.  Students may also choose to take more than one sciencecourse per year starting in 10th grade (called “doublingup”).    With so many elective offerings there have been instances wherestudents have “tripled-up” in their senior year if especiallyinterested in science.  However, taking multiple science courses in oneyear requires students to give up electives in other areas.

KEY:

9TH GRADE COURSE (REQUIRED)

11TH GRADE ADDITIONAL Optional ELECTIVES
12TH GRADE ELECTIVES
