John M. Belk Scholarship   This scholarship recognizes and rewards students of demonstrated superior intellectual and personal achievement and significant leadership ability. Each high school may nominate one or two students for the Belk Scholarship.  Student must be attending Davidson College.

WTS Rhode Island  WTS Rhode Island Advancing Women in Transportation
We are currently accepting applications for high school, junior college, undergraduate and graduate level scholarships.  The local chapter will award one $1,000 undergrad scholarship and one $1,000 graduate scholarship to an outstanding female student pursuing a degree in a transportation-related field of study.  In addition, one $500 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding female high school student excelling in math and/or science who has an interest in pursuing a degree in a transportation-related subject.  All applications will be forwarded to the WTS International Scholarship Fund to be considered for a national scholarship award.

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2017 competition.
Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.

The Rhode Island Foundation is now accepting applications for the Michael P. Metcalf Memorial Fund and Christine T. Grinavic Adventurer's Fund

The funds provide grants to college students to subsidize experiences intended to broaden their perspective and enhance personal growth. They may include travel in this country and abroad and a variety of internship and public service programs.

Applications will be accepted from students who have been legal residents of Rhode Island. Plans must include a well-defined program and demonstrate clear purpose.

United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship Program:  
Each year, the USJCI Senate Foundation gransts 1,000.00 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.  Applications can be found in the High School Guidance Office and must be returned by January 20, 2017 to the State Chairman.

NACEL Open Door Congress-Bundestag Vocational Youth Exchange Program The Congress-Bundestag Vocational Scholarship provides an opportunity for U.S. high school graduates who have undertaken vocational training to spend their 13th year abroad pursuing their vocational interests. Each year, Jostens recognizes the students who make Renaissance happen by sponsoring a student scholarship for college-bound seniors that have played a part in building a Renaissance climate and culture in their school.   One student receives $2,500 per year for four years of college, and four students will receive one-time $1,000 awards.

For RI Residents for Disabilities

The Catherine T. Murray Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 by Catherine T. Murray.  Catherine was a Board Member and a dedicated volunteer at OSCIL who wished to support the philosophy and spirit of OSCIL through a scholarship which would facilitate access to education for persons having disability.

Applicants for this $1,000 scholarship will be screened by the Scholarship Committee. Qualified applicants must be Rhode Island residents with significant disability and seeking financial assistance for Post-Secondary Education.  This can include enrollment in an academic, trade, or vocational program, or the attainment of assistive/adaptive equipment or device to access such educational opportunity.  Preference is based on merit, economic need and educational goal. OSCIL Board, staff and their families are excluded.

Lipsky/Whittaker Scholarship
The annual scholarship program awards a total of $5,000 in multiple scholarships to support LGBTQ persons, including those raised in LGBTQ households that demonstrate strong leadership and youth activism supporting LGBTQ rights. It is available to Rhode Island residents and those attending a post-secondary institution in Rhode Island. 
Youth Pride, Inc. (YPI) is proud to announce that applications for the 2017 Lipsky/Whittaker Scholarship Fund will now be accepted through June 1, 2017. The Lipsky/Whittaker Scholarships will be awarded to Rhode Island youth who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQQ) or the child of LGBTQQ parents.   
 
The scholarship was established through the estate of John Lipsky and George Whittaker who were life partners for more than 50 years. The two gentlemen passed away in 2005, just eight weeks apart. Their dream was to see "young LGBT men and women grow up without the fear of rejection, violence, discrimination or exposure to HIV/AIDS." YPI has established a scholarship committee of local educators and community members with diverse backgrounds to review all applications and make award recipient determinations.
