THE ELLEN AND ALBERT SMITH SCHOLARSHIP A substantial, four-year renewable scholarship is offered to seniors who are SK residents and who are applying to a college or university.  This scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Awarded to seniors pursuing a two or 
four-year post secondary education. The scholarship is available to children or grandchildren of a United States veteran.

 (2) $500 scholarships given to graduating seniors who participated in the SKHS Varsity baseball and/or softball program, has good academic standing and displays the characteristics of the “spirit” of Little League.

Carter Roger Williams Scholarship

 
The scholarship provides four year scholarships of up to $20,000 per student per year for graduating high school seniors in Rhode Island. The scholarship is part of our Carter Roger Williams Initiative, conceived of and funded by philanthropists Letitia and the late John Carter and managed by the Rhode Island Foundation.

Qualified applicants for this Scholarship must be Rhode Island residents with significant disability and seeking financial assistance to attend college, vocational or technical school. This scholarship can be used for the attainment of assistive/adaptive equipment or devices to access your educational goals as well as the usual expenses associated with attending college.  March 30, 2019

SOUTH KINGSTOWN LITTLE LEAGUE
 

This scholarship is open to a graduating senior from South Kingstown High School who is planning to continue his/her education at a post secondary institution.

CRITERIA:

  • A successful South Kingstown Little League career
  • Participation in baseball or softball
  • Good academic standing
  • Participation of at least two years in the South Kingstown High School Varsity baseball or softball program
  • A display of the characteristics that capture the spirit of Little League baseball or softball

Fundacao Faialense Scholarship


 

Winners are selected on the basis of academic record, personal qualifications, financial need and other credentials submitted by or on behalf of each applicant.

    The awarded scholarship will be paid directly to the student upon proof of acceptance and/or attendance of the institution of choice. The student will receive a certificate of award at the annual banquet. (Student must be present at the Banquet which will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

        Incomplete applications will be disqualified

Previously awarded scholarship applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 Grade point average in order to re-apply.

Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce is awarding two $750 scholarships to high school seniors in Southern Rhode Island in recognition of academic excellence and community service. THE WARWICK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA 

The Warwick Symphony Orchestra is proud to offer a scholarship to a graduating Rhode Island High School student each spring.  

 

The WSO scholarship recipient is selected based upon a combination of grades, activities and musical accomplishments. The award is presented at one of the Spring Series concerts.  Criteria for applying for the WSO Scholarship requires the applicant to:

 

1. be graduating from a Rhode Island high school and be studying an orchestral instrument privately. Instruments include: violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, English horn, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, orchestral percussion.

 

2. be able to demonstrate their acceptance to an accredited college as a Music Major.

3. be able to provide an endorsement/recommendation from their private teacher and their school instrumental director.

 

4. submit a video recording capturing a performance from the standard solo repertoire for your instrument.

BETTY ANN KENYON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP  awarded to a student who has achieved academically in the areas of history, political science and/or American government and who has demonstrated community service.

DAN J. ROBINSON MEMORIAL AWARD –presented to a student demonstrating achievement commensurate with ability in any of the following: automotive programs, electronics, woodworking, technical drawing or drafting, marine technology.

DR. DAY CARE SCHOLARSHIP- $250. scholarship awarded to a student planning on furthering their education in early childhood or elementary education. 

ESTHER B. SHANNON SCHOLARSHIP  presented to a student who has demonstrated creativity and excellence in English studies.

HOWARD & LILLIAN WALSH SCHOLARSHIP TRUST AWARD  $1500 awarded in equal amounts of $250 to six South Kingstown students who plan to further their education in college, business, trade or other schools.~ Selection is based on concise career goals, commitment, academic record, and need.

JOSIE FOX MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:awarded to a senior who has made significant contributions to the school and community through leadership, strong connections to the student body and faculty.  

MISSY STARK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: awarded to a senior who is a key member of the senior class and has made significant impact on the school community.  


NEW ENGLAND INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY BOOK AWARD – awarded to students interested in technical education at New England Institute of Technology.

PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AWARD: awarded to a senior, based on leadership and service to the school community. 

RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE BOOK AWARD  given to a student who will be attending Rhode Island College in September and who has shown criteria of scholarship, leadership and achievement.

RHODE ISLAND GENERAL TREASURER’S AWARD  awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship and has demonstrated potential for future success in the world of business.

RHODE ISLAND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S LEADERSHIP AWARD  awarded to a student who has shown leadership by planning and organizing charitable or educational activities, motivating other students to excel or achieve,excelling in school-sponsored clubs, sports, and other activities, demonstrating a positive attitude, and maintaining good grades

RHODE ISLAND SECRETARY OF STATE’S LEADERSHIP AWARD  recognizes one male and one female student who demonstrate the qualities of good scholarship, leadership and achievement.

SMILE AWARD  given to students who have been members of the SMILE program and who have shown academic achievement, participation in high school and community activities, and commitment to diversity.
