Fencing





CourseĀ  Objectives

o       Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the care and use of equipment.
o       Familiarize themselves with proper fencing etiquette and terminology.
o       Execute the basic parries of 4 and 6
o       Execute the following attacks: thrust, lunge, beat, coupe, single and double disengage, circular attack,                   fleche, feints and the ballestra.
o       Apply learned attacks to create numerous combinations.
o       Participate in bout situation using knowledge attained through handouts and guided instruction.





Performance Indicators

o       Develop an understanding of the history and evolution of fencing.
o       Students will learn basic parries.
o       Students will learn simple and compound attacks.
o       Students will learn to score, direct and judge a fencing bout
