"Let's make art!"

Welcome to Art 2

Contour/Watercolor/Collage Assignment:  12 of these finished works are hanging in the Kingston Library through May 31st.

Underwater Watercolor Habitat Painting:
Students will choose an underwater habitat such as a coral reef, the Arctic Ocean, Narragansett Bay, Worden's Pond, rivers, lakes, etc.  The student will then research the chosen habitat and decide on 3 or 4 fish or animals to include in the painting and 3 or 4 or more habitat elements (rocks, coral, sea weed, boats, nets, divers, waders, etc.).  The student will then do a rough draft and include all the elements.  With approval from the instructor the student will then lightly sketch out the composition on watercolor paper.  After learning proper watercolor techniques, the student will then use transparent watercolor to complete the assignment.  The Visual Arts Rubric will be used for assessment.
