Mission
The purpose of our Social Studies program is to provide every student with the educational opportunity that will assist him or her in developing the skills necessary to be a productive and responsible citizen in our diverse and democratic society and global community.
Philosophy
By focusing on the record of human experience, students will evaluate how individuals and societies have resolved their problems, as well as examine the consequences of the decisions and choices that were made. The political, social and economic forces that exist in our local, state, national and global community provide the necessary incentives in formulating our educational program. As a result of their educational experience, students can face the challenges of today and make choices with a deeper understanding of the consequences of their decision. The enhancement of student thinking, writing, and reading skills are essential ingredients to a successful learning experience.
